Merry Christmas!
We were happy to participate in Wreaths Across America - Official Page again this year.
Bill M. was selected as this year's driver.
Bill enlisted in the United States Navy in 1981 at the age of 17. After his completion of boot camp, he was assigned to the USS Ranger CV-61, a Forrestal Class aircraft carrier. Bill was trained on a variety of duties including; refueling, resupply, crane operations, small boat operation, search and rescue, lookout watch, helm, lee helm, and Boatswain Mate of the Watch.
Bill served from 1981 to 1987. During this time he made 2 Western Pacific deployments along with a 14 month overhaul in drydock in Bremerton, WA.
His time in the Navy brought him many life-long friends, which he calls shipmates; unfortunately, some of those shipmates are no longer with us.
Bill was really proud to be chosen as this year's WAA driver, it was a way for him to honor those shipmates that he has lost and other brothers and sisters in arms.
Bill snapped a few pictures along his journey from Maine, to Louisville, KY and Frankfort, KY.
